What is an essential in your vacation bag?

Besides sunscreen and my omnipresent hat for protection, it would have to be a lightweight linen scarf. You never know how far the temperature is going to drop (on the plane or on the beach) and it’s a great multi-purpose item. You can even use it as a makeshift sarong should you need it.

What summer trend are you the most excited about?
I love white – I really, really do. You can go very sleek with it a la Helmut Lang, or totally girly with an eyelet fit and flare. Layer on either simple gold jewelry for an understated look or really funk it up with neon jewels!
What’s your ultimate vacation style inspiration?
Oh, that’s easy – the Palm Beach set. CZ Guest, Jackie O, Babe Paley – the whole gang! They were so chic.
Are you going on any trips this summer?
I will be in Bridgehampton a couple of weekends and then will also take a trip to Sea Island, Ga. Same sort of classic, all-American, preppy vibe. I’m always looking for anyplace I can wear offensively bright prints!
